"Play Me" Interactive Mural
San Francisco, CA | 2015
Wall and Wall made a step into the tech+art space by creating an interactive mural (exposed at the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco) that enables its audience, with the touch of a finger, to emote a sound response. Welcome to interactive murals!
After the creative design process, we set up all the elements behind the panel on which the mural is displayed. This was accomplished using a technology component called Touch Board by Bare Conductive.
Touch Board uses ‘capacitive sensing’ to measure the capacitance of the objects attached to it and, once you touch the object, it can sense the additional capacitance added from the human body, which then triggers a sound.
Wall and Wall connected the conductive paint with the Touch Board and to finish it off, we customized the interactive mural project with compatible technology by Arduino to program rounds, actions, and setups.
